Bill Clinton has agreed to publicly disclose the names of more than 200,000 donors to his foundation to help clear the way for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to become secretary of state.

Obama sets out to woo military chiefs

Then-presidential candidate Barack Obama and the then-top U.S. military commander in Iraq, David Petraeus, talk as they take a helicopter ride over Baghdad on July 21. Obama has apparently been working to reassure military leaders that he will take their opinions into consideration and not do anything rash. So far, Obama appears to be going out of his way to reassure military chiefs that he will do nothing rash and will seek their advice, even while making clear that he may not always take it.

Demonstrators with the People's Alliance for Democracy continue to hold both of Bangkok's airports and say they will not leave until Thai Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat resigns from office.  At least 51 anti-government protesters are wounded in several explosions, raising fears of widening confrontations in a standoff that has strangled Thailand’s economy.

Botanists think squirrels offer clues to this year's 'bizarre' absence of acorns in parts of the United States.Last year, oaks in metropolitan Washington produced a bumper crop of acorns, and squirrels and other urban wildlife produced an abundance of young. This year, experts said, many will starve.
